Zhoushan-Daishan Bridge in east China’s Zhejiang Province, the country’s longest expressways linking islands, opened to traffic on Wednesday. It forms the largest cross-sea bridge cluster of 83 km together with Yushan Bridge, Fuchimen Bridge and the Zhoushan cross-sea bridge.

The bridge stretches 17.36 kilometers, connecting Zhoushan Island and its outlying Daishan Island, which are usually referred to as the Zhoushan Islands together with several other small islands nearby.

The bridge is a part of the transportation system that connects the five principal Zhoushan Islands where China’s mega port, Zhoushan Port, is located. The transportation system, which mainly consists of cross-sea bridges and expressways, the opening has led Zhoushan-Daishan Bridge become the world’s largest cross-sea bridge cluster.

Facebook is introducing bonus programs

that will reward a wide variety of creators for sharing great content that people enjoy. Bonuses will also help creators understand which content performs best for them.

Bonus programs will be seasonal, evolving and expanding over time. While some bonus programs are already available to select creators by invitation, such as their Badges and Stars Challenges, they will launch a dedicated place for bonuses within the Instagram app this summer, and in the Facebook app in the fall, where creators can learn about the bonuses available to them.

The first bonus opportunities on Facebook, available by invitation now, help creators earn more while learning how to create content that can be monetized.

In-Stream bonus pays an earnings bonus over the next four months to select video creators using in-stream ads.

Stars bonus: Facebook is expanding their Stars Challenges program to include select gaming creators. Participating video and gaming creators will receive a monthly bonus for hitting specific Stars milestones over the next three months.

On Instagram, the first bonuses will be available by invitation and will reward creators for signing up for IGTV ads and using badges in Live and Reels:

The IGTV ads bonus, available now to creators in the US, allows creators to earn a one-time bonus for signing up for IGTV ads, which enables them to earn a share of revenue when ads run during their videos.

The badges in Live bonus, available now to creators in 11 countries, rewards creators when they meet certain milestones with badges, such as going Live with another account.

The Reels Summer bonus, launching in the coming weeks to creators in the US, will pay creators for creating great Reels content on Instagram. Creators can find the Reels summer bonus in the new Bonuses section of the Instagram app, and will earn based on how their reels perform.

Mubiru Shafik born May 12, 1998) is an internet entrepreneur, a Ugandan media magnate, and philanthropist. He is known for co-founding Fiktube, Ent. and serves as its marketing director, and controlling shareholder.

Born in Uganda, Shafik attended Makerere University were he is pursued his “Bachelors of Arts in Social Sciences”, before he joined University he launched the Fiktube communication and entertainment service from his desire to challenge his brain on February 12, 2017, with assistance from his former old school roommates (Namagabi SS) Masumbuku Jamaldin, Ntambazi Acram Mpungu, Kakande Farid Gava, and Balbuena Ronnie. Originally launched to serve as a video sharing helping those in the diaspora, they expanded to a site rapidly and eventually beyond boarders. Shafik took the enterprise public in May 2018 the same year he joined Makerere University. In 2019, at age 20, he dethroned himself from being the Chief Executive Officer and nominated Kakande Farid who currently serves as it’s CEO. As of May 2021, Shafik’s Fiktube is worth $5000, with properties such as a video sharing platform, a news and magazine platform, two mobile application platforms; the Fik Tube Pro and Fiktube News both on Google Play Store.

EARLY LIFE
Shafik was born on May 12, 1998. Together with his three siblings, Jauharah, Halimah, and Ashraf were brought up in Munyonyo, Kampala, a beautiful Salaama County village about a few Kilometers central Kampala of Makindye Division. Shafik was raised in a Sunni Muslim household, and his ancestors hailed from Buganda. He had a blackout of three months in a ‘comma’ and it is believed that his mother never left his side at Mulago hospital where he spent six months during the years of construction of the new Mulago, he suffered a chest damage after a failed acrobat air and spent most of his times there on a life supporting machine (Oxygen). In an interview he said “While in Mulago, I remember we used to share the same sickbed with my mom though patient caretakers weren’t allowed to sleep on the same bed with the patients and most of them used to sleep down on the floor. We could wait until the lights were switched off then share the bed, my mom had a terrible life there “.

At Namagabi Secondary School, Shafik excelled in classes. In 2012, he joined Namagabi SS in Form two, and spent five years there and sat his UCE and UACE in 2014 and 2016 respectively, he became its head boy in 2015–2016, it is in this period where he was awarded with certificates in Debate, Quiz, Computer and Leadership with also one from Namagabi Muslim Students Association (NAMSA) a Muslim governing body at the school for his works towards Muslim development. In his youth, he also attended the MasterCard DDQIC for Disciplined Entrepreneurship Scholarship at Queens University in 2021.

He is currently pursuing a Serial Entrepreneurship Course for Tony Elumelu Foundation to advance his skills in Entrepreneurship. On his University application, Shafik stated that he could read and write Luganda, and English. He was head boy in 2015–2016, and highlighted the times when was accused for stopping students from attending night preps on Eid Day as his most challenging days. He said “When I became head-boy in 2015, after a few days it was Eid, since Namagabi is Muslim founded school we used not to attend night preps and every student knew it. This time it was different as the “Askari” came locking the dormitories, a number of students confronted him, many approached me telling me to stop him from locking up. I approached and asked him to wait I first consult the then Headmaster (Late Lwanga Siraje) since he was around school, I sloped down but on my way, reaching the administration block, girls were already settled in for preps and when I asked them who told them to come for preps, they told me a teacher who previously used to chase them back to their dormitories so I got confused but my mindset told me to continue to the HM’s resident, when I asked him, he was also surprised so here he told me to order the girls back to their dormitories which I did. So when this teacher realised that the HM had ordered students to go back, he accused me and the then students school sheikh Yaala Musa for causing a strike that we refused students from attending preps on Eid. He could not report me to the Headmaster because he was very aware that the HM was the one who ordered them back, he decided to spread hatred to his fellow teachers and here a few hated me but those who managed to confront me, I explained myself and understood”. Shafik said that it is of this reason he hates leadership and since then he has decided to keep a low profile but he said he has not stopped from mentoring, inspiring and assisting leaders in advisory role.

PHILANTHROPY

In 2012, his first year at Namagabi SS which carried out an Independence Charity on October 9, 2012 in Kayunga district. Shafik stated that it was his first time doing an open charity event, “I really felt so good and was so touched to my heart, I felt like dropping down tears, this period really reminded me of my days in Mulago”.

In 2013, Shafik joined the October 9th charity event but this time he kept out, he did not enter inside the hospital. He said “My heart feels hurt and get stuck to the extent that I could barely say anything but feel the pain, there’s really a lot of suffering in the hospitals and people inside there need help and assistance both the patients and nurses”, Charity is Namagabi SS’ culture that is carried out continuously every 9 October.

On October 9, 2018, Shafik, and his former old students of Namagabi SS decided to go back to the school to carry out the charity behavior, a year after they had left in 2016. “The Namagabi SS Independence Charity”, in which they committed to donate to charity at least once over the course of time, and invited others among the compassionates to donate 10 percent or more of their wealth to charity.

In August 2019, Shafik and the organization known as WAY – We Are Youths were he was accredited with a title of Innovations Manager’
announced that over the course of their lives they would give the majority of their assistance to ‘advancing human potential and promoting equality’ in the spirit of donating to charity.

When we asked him why he wanted to share this article with the public, he said “I decided that every birthday of mine, I should do something special. The reason why I wanted this on my birthday is currently my former teacher at Namagabi SS needs a kidney transplant and I would like everyone who would manage to read this to contribute towards meeting his medical bill of 70 million so that he can under go an operation in India”.
